when's 12.1 coming?
Hi, a bit desperate for the update so we can start shooting Eos R's with Capture one. Any idea of a general timeline for this?

This is a user-to-user forum, and no-one here knows the answer to that.

We are looking at 4 months if the release of ver. 11.1 is anything to go by. Best we have I believe.

Are you referring to tethered shooting?
There would normally be one or two service releases at this early stage of a new version before the next point release.
Of course when a specific problem may be resolved is very dependent on the cause of the problem so typical release dates may not be a great indication for solution availability.

Regarding EOS R support, the Capture One 12.0 release notes, on page 19, at the top of the list of supported Canon cameras lists EOS R with CR3 formatted files as supported as is tethered shooting and live view.
https://www.phaseone.com/en/Capture-One ... lease.aspx and click on release notes, or go directly to
https://www.phaseone.com/~/media/NEW_WE ... ashx?la=en
Of course, if you have tried it and it doesn't work, that is another matter for the support folks.

Yes tethered, it shoots tethered but really buggy and really slow.0 -

Then you are probably aware of the other threads about that particular functionality and the comments made within them?0 -

Yes I'm aware of the fact that other people find it slow to use. Am I missing some kind of fix or something?0 -
Tethering issues with the Canon EOS R are acknowledge from the side of Phase One. They are working to fix it. Your best option is to make sure that Capture One 12 checks for updates regularly (Preferences) so you do not miss the upgrade.
The first maintenance release (12.0.1 in this case) often comes about a month and a half after the major release, when I look up to 2 versions back, to give you a rough estimation. Please note that I do not want to imply that the tethering problem will be fixed. We will only know when the release is available.0 -
