'Synchronize folder' is only for new files and not folders?
Just a quick question, I just found this 'synchronize folder' and when I click it it seems to only update new files but not new folders, is there a way to make it find new folders?
My photo hierarchy is like this:
-Photos
--2013
--2014
--2015
---- folderproject1
---- folderproject2
---- newfolderproject3
Clicking synchronize on 2015 should try and import 'newfolderproject3', but apparently not. I had to import it manually(?)

You're right, syncing works after importing (if I'm not mistaking)
So first import, including subfolders, after that syncing will work.0 -
Hi,
That is right the synchronize folder feature can be used to import additional images in that folder, it's useful if additional images have been added to a folder after importing and the catalog requires updating. Deleted images can also be removed from the catalog during this process.0 -
Ah interesting, I think it would be great if new folders are detected. But anyways, thanks for confirming! 0 -
Discovered the same issue; there is however a bit of a workaround. If you establish new folders, just add them in the hierarchy view then do a sync. If it knows of a folder's existence, it will import files to any folder level. In other words, in your example you would simply add new folder as needed then perform a sync at the highest level. This can save some time if you have a lot of newly categorized new stuff. And agree: it would be nice if sync would just...sync. 0
