Previews in 3.7.8

The preview does not seem to maximise in 3.7.8 - I am running in appropriate compatiibility mode under Vista. And the zomm preview button does not seem to work. I am wasting a lot of my laarge screen real estate.

Previews onlu use about half width of preview window. The images are from a Canon EOS 1Ds3.



Any ideas what I am missing?
