C1 8.3.1 Canon 17-40mm F4 Lens Profile
1. The Distortion default setting for this lens' profile should not be 0%. It should be 100%.
2. Sometimes - for example, when shooting verticals (e.g. interiors) head on - not even Distortion set to 120% will straighten a curved vertical.
I am hooked on C1 and will not be returning to Lightroom (at least, that is my intention), but LR's lens profiles are better than C1's, in my experience.
Thanks.

Ps. There is no profile (Generic is useless) for either Canon's 50mm macro nor Canon's 45mm Tilt/Shift. That would be nice.

I'm not at all sure you will get any satisfaction from user to user comments in the forum.
These sound like observations that should be made to the Capture One support team through a Support Case so that you can receive and official reply either confirming a problem or explaining why certain decisions have been made.
HTH.

Please create a Support case, and be sure to provide the raws for us to take a look at. Thanks!
We always try to expand the Lens Profile DB, so rest assured that we will try to make it as complete as possible with both old, current and future lenses..0 -
Is it now possible to make the lens profiles out of Raw-Files? I always thought you should have the lens itself in your house for that. 0 -
We still need them in-house. Requesting the raw-files is just to see what is going on, and if there is anything we can improve. 0
