New NAS drive, error message when resetting path
Hello,
Our old Lacie NAS drive recently ran out of space and we have upgraded to a larger Synology NAS drive. We keep the image files on the server, but the Media Pro catalogue lives on one of two iMacs in the office and the other two machines access it over the network or use a local read-only version of the catalogue that also accesses the image files on the server.
All the image files have been copied to the new server. The directory structure is identical, it's just on the new drive now.
I opened up our Media Pro catalogue planning to use the Reset Folder Path command to point the catalogue to the new drive. As expected, the folders under the Catalog Folders panel in the Organize pane displayed red ? question marks. However, the image files themselves are NOT displaying as offline – I can access them fully, the Show Media File command opens a Finder window with the image selected, etc.
When I try to reset the folder path I get the error message "Cannot move folders. Make sure that: disks cannot be moved, folders cannot be moved and folders must exist."
What am I missing?
Setup:
(2) iMacs running 10.8.5
(1) Macbook running 10.6.8
Media Pro 1.3.2.58847
Synology DS216

I think I was able to solve my problem.
I went into the interface to manage my NAS drive and renamed the root shared folder. I just renamed it from "Share" to "SharedFolder."
Then I re-opened Media Pro and tried the Reset Folder Path command again, navigating to my newly-renamed SharedFolder. This time, I didn't get the error and the ugly red question marks went away. I guess the re-name forced to software to "see" the change?
Anyway, on first blush all seems working fine now. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
