Spot Removal tool limit? Because of trial?

The limitation of 100 spot removals has nothing to do with the trial version. It exists also at the purchased version.

Maybe you should ask Phase One concerning these limitation, or creating a support case in order to overcome this.

It may be worth bearing in mind that Capture One is, primarily, designed to be a RAW file converter originally created to support digital back and extended to work with other digital cameras and digital files in general. The primary purpose is still the intended support for digital images from digital sensors.

Realistically one would not expect a photographer using a digital camera to start a shoot with so many spots that would require correction on their sensors. If it were to happen one might expect that they would have other software or other approaches to rectify the perceived defects. In the case of skin blemishes for example I would think that most organisations would immediately think Photoshop or similar.

Fixing a lot of spots, whatever type, is a significant processing overhead (for computer and human) and not really something one would expect to encourage absent the use of some specialised software that would be classed more as image finishing than RAW conversion. Or at least that is my opinion whether the source file is a digital original or a digital from analogue conversion.

Using a digital source there is the option to create an LCC file that will deal with dust issues in order to avoid or reduce the need for later spotting work. If used that should greatly reduce the amount of dust correction required leaving 100 manual corrections as a reasonable number, in my opinion.

However, if you feel you need more just raise a Support Case with the enhancement request and take things from there. After the recent post about creating positive images from negatives you may attract interest from within Phase.
