Shooting with CO 8 on to a server
Hello,
I work in a big photostudio an we are thinking of connecting all our macs to a server and shooting directly on to the server. Our CO supplier mentioned that in previous versions of CO their were problems with this kind of setup. He mentioned that some time the raw files got corrupt when shooting on to a server.
My questions are: Has anyone already tested this kind of setup? Has anyone had problems with this? Is there an improvement with CO8?
Thanks
Bart

It's certainly not recommended.
Server connections often refresh, if a refresh occurs when a file is transferring it can be lost or corrupted.
You will also suffer performance issues as the speed to write a file will be diminished.
It's best to shoot to the local machine and then use a background App to pull/copy files to the server.
We use ChronoSync for this in our shoots and it hasn't failed us once.0
