Adjustment Layer Question
Is there a way to copy an existing Adjustment Layer without having to re-create it?

Yes, adjustment layers are an adjustment like any other. You can copy and apply it to other images or variants in similar ways like throught the adjustment clipboard or through Local Copy/Apply. Note that ALL layers with ALL tool adjustments are copied in one package to the target image/variant. 0 -
Hi Paul,
Thanks for looking into this. Let me clarify, though I doubt it possible at this point, after creating an adjustment layer I would like to duplicate this layer several times within the same file, i.e. Layer 1 is duplicated once or more within the file. And to ask for the moon, I would like to be able to raise and lower the opacity of the adjustment layers.
Thank you again-

Doug, duplicating layers for the same image/variant is a feature that came available with CO 6.2. Layer opacity is not (yet) available.
Duplicating (and the other new feature here: inverse) layer can be done from the tool's context menu (you know, the small triangle at the tool's header).0 -
AFAIK
Well, duplicating is not really exact…
It took me sometime(s) to understand how to do it…
Once you've created a layer and a mask, you cannot "duplicate" it, but you can:
Create a new layer and then copy the mask into it, then if you wish you even may invert this mask…
Pretty good feature but should not be called "duplicate"…0 -
Thanks Nicolas for clarifying this. I did a quick reply from the top of my head, which appears not always to be accurate. 😉
Actually it is not called duplicating but 'Copy mask from', which is exactly what is does. It only copies the mask from its origin, not the adjustments made to that mask.0 -
Well, you know, when I can help… 😎
anyway, once more, "'Copy mask from'" is only working when you have created a new layer (which is logical when you do the dichotomy between layer and mask 😉0 -
Brilliant- Thanks gentlemen, though opacity levels is not a feature the copy mask feature is fantastic. 0
