Some behaviors C1 8.3.3 on Mac 10.10.5
I do have still some behaviors in C1 since I switched from Aperture to C1. After importing my Library into C1 Catalogue, I was not able to move some images from one folder to another within C1. I gave up and didn‘t tried it over again.
Last week I created a new catalogue and imported a folder of images and another catalogue too. Some images were saved in a folder but then moved by me to a subfolder. In Finder they moved too. But in C1 catalogue they are managed in top folder and subfolder. I did a sync of folder but no success. I removed images in top folder from catalogue, but images in subfolder are removed too. Bad behavior.
Few days ago I received few images from a customer which I should process for web. The images were all 1300 px wide, adobeRGB and JPEG saved. I had to process the images to 1030 px wide, sRGB, with text watermark and good compression for small files. I imported images into new catalogue, set up a process workflow and saving in a subfolder of imagefolder. The process starts with a blink of half a second and nothing happens. In process history all images are marked as processed, but no exported files in finder.
I asked other C1 users about this issue and one helped me to find a possible reason or path, were to look at: we found in user/library/application support/capture one/batch… folder a history text file were we found the path, to were C1 thinks it has exported by process. To the filename was added a dot as first char, which lets the finder think, it is a hidden file. But in true, I took a look with terminal app to that folder in case searching for the hidden file, but there wasn't one.
I like the RAW engine in C1 very much and wonder how I could be happy with Aperture in past. But the DAM in C1 is terrible, horror and in much cases buggy. In this case I wish I worked better with Aperture.

Interesting ... The deciding factor when I selected C1 over all the other options for an Aperture replacement was that the trial version worked so well in regard to library management. I was able to replicate my Aperture library and can drag and drop images between Albums without any problems.
I like the RAW engine. The work flow is to download from the SD card, with the Linear Response curve set as default, and then Auto Adjust. The "keepers" are then drag and dropped into existing or new Collections/Albums before getting down to serious editing with Levels etc. Most of the editing tools do what is needed, but I do sometimes call Affinity Photo for the more "heavy lifting" tasks.
Running 8.3.3 and 10.10.5 but it was fine with the .2 and .4 releases too.0 -
Hi, sorry for been presise, but could you describe:
a) There is no need to look for any file to find out where files where exported Just go to "Batch Tab" then click for History tab - there you will get history of all your processed files.
After that make sure that you output and reciepts settigns are correct.
DAM features of C1 is quite different then Lightroom, but after you understand how receipts work everything will be smooth0
