recognizing a card reader -- NOT
Folks, I'm new to this program so it's possible I'm doing something wrong but here's the situation: I have a pretty standard USB SanDisk card reader (4 card types). I have a graphics explorer program called ThumbsPlus that recognizes all the drives & can d/l, import, etc all RAW files from any slot on the card reader.
However Phase One does not recognize this card reader at all. Neither does the media reader.
In DOpus, a windows explorer on steroids, I can enter a drive letter, i.e. H:, I:, J: (card reader) & seed all the files however this doesn't seem possible in Phase One.
Before I go off & spend a bunch of money this seems like a pretty basic requirement.
TIA for any thoughts or suggestions on this matter.

No problems reading from my USB-II reader (generic US$10 type - only reads CF cards.) Sorry that's not much help to you, but it does indeed work for me. 0 -
janrif,
We have seen some instabillity on this with Windows 2000. If using this OS, be sure Service Pack 4 is installed.
Look to the right-hand side of your tool tray and see if the Phase One logo is there. This is the Capture One Media Reader. Right-click on this and be sure that Enabled is checked.
Also, CF cards must be formatted on you computer in MS-DOS and contain the DCIM folder to be recognized.
Lastly, close all other programs in order to eliminate any conflicts.
Hope this helps you out, please let us know.
Sincerely,

Have not done this as the card reader is recognized by Thumbsplus & Adobe Elementss w/o issue in current configuration.
Thank you very much for your help/reply. Hope this problem can be resolved.0 -

Since there has been no further support with this issue, I will abandon my interests in the pro version as it doesn't make sense to spend more $$ on an expensive product were customer/tech support is so limited.
Thanks anyway,0 -
janrif,
MS-DOS formatting of the CF card is required.

Stellar? Be that as it may, you, Mr. Carpenter, asked me a lot of questions which I answered & then rcvd no further support or suggestion to go to any support URL, etc.
Those are the facts & those are the facts that I based my decision on.
