slowwwww importsvr ????
I have 11,000 local cr2 files
Media pro has been working on this new catalog for over 8 hours and still going that is <1400 images an hour.
Coming from Lightroom (Because I though it was slow) this seems way too slow. I have about 750,000 images to catalog. That is a full 22 days of nothing but importing.
This seems a bit too slow so I checked resource monitor - Importsvr is performing 300+ page faults per sec. That seems to be excessive paging and likely why import is so slow.
Win 7 64
I7 3.2ghz
16 g ram
Local drive dedicated to images.
What can I try?

Which rendering image did you configure in MP? With P1 rendering engine for my Vista or Win7 32bit it was slow, unstable and not displaying some special media files. With WIC it is much better and with WIC-addons like FPVC everything was quite good. May be for your CR2 also a WIC renderer from camera maker is available. Search in forum for postings about the short names or ask further. Good luck! 0 -
Wic helps at TON - now importing is fast, BUT now MP hangs nearly constantly on my larger catalogs 0
