Understanding what Happens on Import - Noise Reduction?

I am just working my way through C1 tutorials as I am a new uptake of C1. I have been predominantly a Lightroom user up to now.

What drew me to Capture One was the immediate quality of the images out of my Fuji X-Pro1 and X100s on import. The lack of noise in my high ISO image is incredible. I do not have to do anything to my images in my workflow, even at 6400 with regards to Noise Reduction. Is this down to Phase One's efforts in camera profiling and things like noise reduction and some sharpening of the images are applied at import?

    By default sharpening and noise reduction are applied on import. The values applied are the default values. You can see it when you go to the respective tools. You can alter any value. If you prefer other values in the long run, you can define them as new defaults.

    If that is the case then WOW

    This alone has sold me on Capture One. I have edited a test image of my son which was shot at ISO 6400 on a X-Pro1. Without doing anything with Noise Reduction other than what is added on import by default, the images looks like it was shot at 400.

    I am totally blown away.

    I hope I find more gems like this whilst diving into C1.
