Roadmap? DNG?
I've heard about this 18 month roadmap, but I haven't seen it published anywhere. Can someone please post a link.
Earlier it was said the we would have DNG support by the end of the year. Is this still the plan? I love Capture One for its color and overall quality, but I really want to move to a DNG based workflow. Right now I'm stuck with ACR and Raw Shooter Premium for DNG and neither produce the same level of quality as Capture One. Will I be waiting long for this support?

Citezein,
Apologies, it is not clear if the RoadMap applies to Phase One Digital Backs only or if it includes software as well. DNG support was intended for 2005 according to last Press Release, an update is forthcoming.
I have forwarded your inquiry to Denmark for an official reply.
Sincerely,

Citezein,
The RoadMap is pertains to Phase One Digital Backs and is provided to Dealers and Distributors.
DNG Support is slated to be in the first 1/2 of 2006.

Hi,
I have just downloaded and installed the RC1 of version 3.7.3 and this release can open DNG. 😂
At this time I only had a demo file from Leica, but I will test with DNG converted from Canon 300D soon.
It seems that we will geht DNG soon. 😄0 -
😭
Ok, a compressed DNG created with the Adobe tool from Canon RAW does NOT work.0 -

Yeah, that's too bad. They repeatedly said by the end of 2005 for DNG. Now the word is first half of 2006. I've been pretty disappointed with the lack of progress in the software. It's good they are getting 3.73 out, but it doesn't give me anything new.0 -
I tried an uncompressed RAW converted from a Kodak SLR/n with ACR 3.2 and it doesn't work either. Why does a DNG from a Leica camera work in 3.7.3rc2 other DNG files don't. Wasn't it supposed to be a universal RAW format? 0 -
@nkf
Yes, DNG is universal and as far as I can see C1 is the problem.
As written before, even a R8 file is not opend, so C1 seems to check some bits of the file, like camera name....
If this info does not fit to its internal logic than the file is not accepted by C1. Bad thing, but I hope that this bug is removed soon.
To me it is easy.
Open known files (inludes ALL DNG's)
Try to find camera info from header
Load apropriate color settings from file or load a default if cam is unknown.
Display the picture
That's all and should work already.0 -

Are you saying with this you're hacking the DNG file to make it work in C1Pro?0 -
No,
this is only the logical way to handle DNG inside C1.
This must be done by the developer of Phase One and was my hint 🙄
At this time only the DNG of a Leica R9 works 😭0 -

I am suprised it has taken them so long to add support. DNG is just a well-specified container for data that PhaseOne already knows how to deal with. I wouldn't think it would be a big deal to add the code to read the DNG and then choose the correct conversion path.0
