Canon 1 DS mk 2 Tethered
PowerMac Intel 2.8 ghz 6GB ram 8 core
High res tiff 48 MB processing time 3 seconds
12" G4 Laptop 1.5 ghz 1.25MB ram

Come on.. you really cant compare them.
And what is the difference for the development while shooting tethered?0 -
It wasn't a comparison test its the equipment I use.
I was just demonstrating the update works OK.
I never develop while shooting , there is no point.

This is a good point, we often get cases from users who run into problems while trying to do both at the same time. This of course creates all sorts of issues as image processing and preview generation is very processor intensive. Also when you are processing you are writing new files, so shooting at the same time will slow down your file write times for both capture and processing.0 -
Yes when I'm shooting I'm concentrating on the shoot and my assistant is file managing and checking everything is going OK, then I and Art Director go through the preview images to check we have the shot, processing is later.
