Preview order
Hi all,
when I have the viewer window open and allow multiple images to show up, and select multiple images, I expect to see them in the same order as they are ordered in my preview window. This is not the case in some of my sessions and I can't see why. When I process the batch, they are also disordered and thus misnamed, so to speak. Anything I might overlook?
Kind regards,
Andy

The Viewer will show the Images you have selected, in the order you have selected them.
The Browser will show the order of the images controlled by the "Sort" option chosen.0 -
Drew: The Viewer will show the Images you have selected, in the order you have selected them.
Hi Drew, unfortunately this is not the case with CO8.1, Windows version. The Viewer seems to use the order of the Browser.

So, is this a bug?
Thanks,

Not sure you are referring to. My understanding is that (at least on Windows):browser order = viewer order (in multi view, multiple images selected) = processing order (unless rearranged in the batch queue)

Hi Paul,
Yes, Viewer order = Browser order, at least sometimes...
That is ok as a default behavior, but I would prefer if the order of images in the viewer could be changed by the user, image per image, best would be via drag & drop, or, by the order you select them in the browser. This order only needs to be temporary, not stored for long-term.
Because Drew basically said this would be possible, but it isn't, I thought this might be a bug:
Drew:The Viewer will show the Images you have selected, in the order you have selected them.
The Browser will show the order of the images controlled by the "Sort" option chosen.
Now, meanwhile I discovered that you actually can change the order in the browser via drag&drop (which is good), but, the order in the viewer does not reflect this new order.
Best
