How to use existing naming and numbers on import

The original name on import is the default, IIRC. But anyhow you can set this in the import dialog. What are your naming settings in that dialog currently?

By the way, I have the same workflow with Photomecanics and CO for many years and it works for me without problems.

Hi Paul, originally I was using image name camera number but I was getting weird results, I zeroed everything out and just tried your comment and it did show the naming as photo mechanic but not sure why it works correctly now. This is an odd software to me, but maybe it just takes time....

this is the default behavior, to keep the original file-name. Are you 7.1.1?

    Hi Paul,

I am on 7.1.1 I guess it's all user error but it's odd to me as I'm also not loving the processing as it names on output
maybe I'm being dumb, but this could be slightly easier..

    On mac osx 10.7.5

I'm wanting to love this app. I do like certain looks I can attain here that I can't attain in LR or PS or DPP (Canon camera files), but certain things about the app make things slow, it seems to be a processor hog now vs 6 virtually slows my computer down to a snail and I'm using 512gb SSD drive 16gb ram on a 2012 17" 2.4 macbook pro. (last model of this size)

Well, you can define the output naming pr recipe. Check it out!

Can you elaborate on what things causes your slow-downs?

    Hi Christian,

I thought you were Paul, Image name and 1 digit but that throws me off then the root folder for a few catalogs I didn't realize I had to set the process folder 2x's it kept going to a previous process folder. Those are basic items and I'm sure to most on the forum they know how to do it but it seems like the user should be able to simply say go here.
Even the 1 digit why would it say that when you could say original file name and number.

What causes the slow down is ingesting from cards and having to build preview jpgs but that's been the same slow down since 3.73, however since I'm ranting a bit, I have about 20 user styles and I didn't realize I could use a window pane and I was using the drop down and due to the way you have this setup, the information that I set for the style opens a yellow box and it is always in the middle of the picture I'm trying to apply a style to. I can't read what is inside the box and why would I care? There is a large delay when trying to go from one style to another... much slower than lightroom or PS.

Again, I'm learning my own user errors are causing a lot of my issues but sometimes in a shoot I don't have time to think clearly and calmly, I want to go boom boom and see something.
