After having vent your frustration - can happen every now and then - consider this.

A lot of tethering issues have been solved with newer versions of Capture One Pro 6.
A lot of tethering issues have been introduced by an OS X update.
A lot of tethering issues have been caused by newer MacBook Pro models with different power constraints at the USB port.
Comparing other hardware or software does not solve the issue.

The Canon 5D mkII is a popular camera model (I have one, and have no tethering issues currently). As a result you see more issues reported (and a lot were valid issues, and solved through updates). If there was really a general flaw in the software, this forum would have been flooded with posts. So consider there is something unique in your setup.

Long story short, consider if you like to discuss your issue here by providing more details about your setup like version of CO6 and OS X and so on (you know the drill). If it is too much of a hassle for you, leave it. It's my way to take this forum seriously.

that for sure, CO is not the best software considering stability...
Today I did some 1800 pictures with no crash (5DMKII +tethered macbook pro(new one) ) but yesterday it crash 5 or 6 times.
It was slow at the end ( but I was shooting 1 image every second)
CO is like the weather sometimes sunny sometimes cloudy! 😕
    Je suis de Belgique! 😁
