Export not representative of Capture One

When processing files, I notice a color shift and softening of the image whenever I export (JPG or TIFF). Is this a common issue, or is there something I am missing. I am working in Windows 10 and viewing the outputs in a vairety of programs after the fact. I understand the color shift may be a result of viewing in photo viewer, but the loss of clarity/softening is really bothering me.

    When you write "Export" do you mean the Export function or are you using the word as a generic term related to use of the output processing feature? (The word is often interchangeable but the processes can be very different.)

    If you DO mean Export (i.e. form the File menu) are you exporting as Originals or Variants?

    If "Originals" are you ticking the box for "Include Adjustments"? Any other boxes?

    If "Variants" are you by any chance ticking the box to Disable Sharpening?

    Those are the basic questions.

    No doubt your answer(s) will lead people to the next set of questions.

    I not also that your Capture One screen shot is processing a DNG file. Can you advise about the source of this file - is it from the camera directly or via an intermediate process?

    Thanks for the reply.

    I have used both the file - export - variants and the process recipe method. I did verify disable shadowing was unchecked. Is there another way to "export".

    I suppose we could consider Open With and Edit With as forms of Export but they do not seem to be relevant here.

    The main interest was whether you were exporting the Original (no edits applied, just a file type conversion) or using a process recipe. Export Variants uses the same routine as the Process module as far as I am aware.

    So, the next question would be how the process used as the time of Export/Process was set up and what edits had been applied.

    Also :

    - have you already searched the forum for any discussion that seems somewhat similar?

    - have you created a Support Case? (Windows 10 not yet officially supported but it's probably still worth doing for everyone's benefit.)

    - Do you have the latest release of Capture One?

    - OpenCL processing should be turned on by default. Out of interest try turning it off (notable for Processing in this context) and repeat the exports to see what happens. (Preferences settings.)

    Thise would, I think, be the next logical and reasonably simple things to look at or do.

    I feel the disappointed representation of the exported file comes from the program you use to look at the exported file. The Windows 10 photo viewer does not use a very sophisticated way of rendering, resulting in a less then satisfactory experience.

    In other words, there is no need to look into how the image was processed or exported in Capture One.

    These kind of issues are very common on the Windows platform unless you are using an advanced photo viewer or editor like Photoshop.

    To dispel the sentiment that this is simply a windows rendering issue when vieweing the JPF/TIFF post processing, I have re-imported those files into CO and viewed them side by side with the RAW. See below. The difference is still there even when using CO to view both.
