Are the spot adjustments limited to 100 ?
Are the spot adjustments limited to 100 ?
At the end of 100, there is a "next", I clicked it on but there does not seem to be any change.
I prefer working with the Spot removal.
In Aperture it was much easier and also the circles did not stay making it easier to fill in further refinements.
Thanks
Greg

HMM.
I think if I was regularly exceeding 100 spots and taking the performance hit that would imply I might be looking for some rather different solutions to whatever is creating the need in the first place.

I agree 1000%, unfortunately I cannot get the HEAL brush to work, It keeps using the top left of the image as a Source Point.
I cannot change it, hitting the ALT + click in the beginning to have a new source point does not work.
I have asked here and checked you tube and cannot get an answer to the problem.
I accept that I am doing something wrong, BUT no one either has the answer.
I only received one reply and it was what I already tried.
Either this forum has limited members with knowledge or no one has an answer.
I Truly wish I could use this product,
So, YES, I need the extra Spot removal to accomplish what I need to repair.0 -

Maybe you could share why you are having to "remove" so many spots.
I think what SFA is referring to, is that if it is because of some sort of dust, you may want to clean that on the source rather than to clean it digitally afterwards.
If it is about some sort of imperfections, e.g. on faces, perhaps some sort of well applied make up may help.
Sometimes, using larger spot circles helps as well, covering more than one spot at a time.0 -

HCS is correct - especially sensor dust where other solutions would be more effective.
If you are talking about imperfection in complexion - the other normal use for spots - and have that many to deal with it would perhaps be better to seek out some rather specialized portrait fixing software if only to save a lot of time.
That said there are other techniques available within C1 that might address some of those issues - especially related to the subject of skin blemishes.
You also might consider fixing the first batch, export the file to a tiff (or whatever) and then import that and apply further fixes but that still begs the question about whether it is a sensible approach to the problem you have.

I run into the 100 spot limit when processing old negatives that I "camera-scan". These negatives may have scratches and dirt on them. Capture One's healing ability and spot removal tools do an excellent job fixing these defects but the limits are frustrating. I understand that Capture One is not Photoshop but I don't want or need the overhead of such a program for what I am trying to do. Maxing out the spot removal to 100 and the layers for scratch removal to 16 does slow down my mid-2011 iMac some but it's not terrible. I pan and scan slowly to make sure I caught all the defects anyways. It works quite well.
I have been following Grant's suggestion for a while now. Export to a TIFF and import that file back into Capture One. Pick up where I left off. It costs 100 MB but storage space is cheap.
I do applaud Aperture for its spot removal tool. Unlimited number of spots and that's old tech nowadays.0
