iMacRetina - C1 is unusable
The software is too slow to really work with. Editing works rather smoothly if You do not have to high demands, but scrolling through your library is just a joke. If I go through my thumbnails in the filmstrip the picture needs about 0.5 to 1.5 secs to render in the viewer. You can imagine that this is not working for me, as the point in a DAM Software is to be able to quickly scroll through pics to decide, catalog, etc.
I work on the high end iMac Retina Late 2014, 32GB, 4 GHz Intel Core i7, AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB. From just slowly scrolling through the filmstrip in Activity-Monitor CPU Percentage for C1 jumps to 300%-400%, Memory-Usage ist at 11.2GB.
My catalog is on the internal SSD, the pictures on an external thunderbolt SSD. My pictures are from a NIKON D810, the previews are set to 5120 Px.
I tried to toggle OpenCL support, does not change anything. Any help or advice is appreciated. I really would like to continue to use C1, as the picture quality achieved with the processing engine is outstanding.

OpenCL problem is there
Please contact with these issues, if you haven't done so already.
Hi Christian,
It is 215216, let me know if you need any more info. If you guys tell me how to record my screen as a video, I can do it as well and send it to you guys.
Btw, it gets worse if I work on full screen, if I do work on a small window, then the lag is less.
Cheers,

and this is the response I got from the Dev team.
Hi,
This may just be Capture One clashing with your Graphics card.
I can put in a request for a review on this card for you.
Kind regards

PS even this level of support is enough to me to use CO9. I've created this issue this morning and in few hours I got a response. Well done PO!0 -

Alright just to update this, I have contacted the technical support for an update and they have said
Hi,
Sorry for the delay in repsonce.
We are still working on this but are getting closer to the root of the issue.
We should hopefully have this fixed soon and we thank you for your patience in the meantime.
Kind regards

So I hope or want to hope that the fix is imminent.0 -
wanted to chime in. before discovering this forum/post my 2013 mbp with SSD performed poorly. so poorly that i went out and bought a late 2015 imac with 2TB fusion drive(128gb ssd), 3.3 i5 skylake with 8gb of ram. still performed poorly. i bought a samsung 1TB usb3 drive and built a catalog fresh on it with only 9k raw files. performance was slow still. so then i bought 64gb of ram and cp1 is STILL SLOW! with a 9k library cp1 uses 20gb of ram.
fwiw by slow i mean when i open cp1 my catalog takes 15-30 minutes to open 50% of the time. the other 50% of the time cp1 crashes. opengl doesnt matter.
i shoot fuji xt1 and cp1 renders my xtrans sensor raw files better than LR can. BUT if i cant load the files then its pointless. ill deal with more edit time in LR to get the files processed, it is still more progress than i can make with cp1 right now.
I want to use cp1 and i cant, a shame. this thread opened in december, its been 5 months. did this software just get thrown together for el capitan support and then abandoned? it clearly wasnt tested much.0 -

I'd suggest you to contact with technical support. They are great and response in just couple of days. It is not normal it takes 30 mins to open a catalogue.0
