Batch auto exposure and auto white balance problems
I have C1 Pro installed on two machines. When working on my PowerbookG4, all previews in a session can be selected and, with one click of the auto exposure (or white balance) tool, be corrected. Awesome! For some reason (?), when working on my G4 tower, this is not possible. I have to do it one by one. Very tedious - and odd. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks.

All I can add is that I also have the same problem, but only since 3.7.4 I believe.... 0 -
rpk431,
You can only Automatic Adjust the WB to 1 image at a time.
Of course if you then select the remaining images and hit Apply to selected captures icon, they will all take-on this Auto WB
This is the way it is supposed to work.
If it works differently on another machine with same version... who knows what is going on 😕

Keith - thanks for your reply, but that's not really correct. You can do a batch autocorrect. I have done it. Definitely with exposure and I believe with white balance as well. I still have this issue, but now I know why. It is not the machine but the type of file. When working with files that come from a PhaseOne back, I am able to autocorrect as many files as I wish at once by selecting them and clicking autocorrect. When working on files from my Canon 5D, that is not possible. So, my question is, why is that the case, and does PhaseOne plan on addressing the issue? When working w/ 2000+ files, it would be nice not to go one by one. Phase must realize this, as they've enabled the function for their proprietary file format. I am familiar with the "apply to selected files" method you mentioned, but that's not what I'm referring to. Thank you. 0 -
Ronny Knight,
The Automatic Adjust icon is a 'shoot-from-the-hip" approach to WB adjustment.
In my experience, it sometimes does an outstanding job while other times it does a miserable job.
On occassion that I cannot figure a good WB, I will give this a try to see what it suggests.
Rarely do I trust it when it is so much more accurate to capture a true target to balance from or to select a neutral image area from Preview.
Also, if a job is shot consistently and if I do use Auto Adjust, I easily apply this to all others. Or another shoot that had very poor lighting, I could at least Auto Adjust 1 image and then apply to in small groups of 5 or 6 images together.
It is hard to imagine a job shot with such inconsistentcy that each individual image needs an Auto Adjustment.
I cannot do an Automatic Adjustment on DSLR or Dback image files as a batch either. So, if you know of a way please share it here.
I do know for Fact that this ability has been submitted and logged as a Feature Request.
