Output crop size

I've created a Recipe to give me an A4 sized print with a 25mm border. However, when I try to apply the "Output" crop it won't snap to the appropriate ratio to for my crop onto and instead just acts like a freeform crop, and I can't get the size indicators in the crop window to both be yellow (good). Here are the details from my recipe:

Scale: Width x Height - 272 x 185.

Since A4 is 297 x 210, I just took 25mm off of both to create a 25mm border.

The size is always red in Process Summary.

Any hints?

    What happens if you set the same aspect ratio for the crop and the scale?

    A4 aspect ratio of 297/210 = 1.41 (square root of 2 to be accurate)
    Scale is 272/185 = 1.47

    If you center the image on the paper, 25 mm of white space means a 12.5 mm border.
