    Belinda,

Yes, there will be a major UpGrade for the PRO version and this will likely be available in early 2008.
Watch the web site for all information regarding availability, and sign-up to receive the RAW News

    Belinda,

    To Clarify:
UpDates = fixes Bugs and adds new DSLR models and are always Free
UpGrades = adds Features and Functions and overall program improvement and are chargeable

PRO Licenses came with 2 Free UpGrades and LE with 1, so yes, you will be able to get 4.0 Final Release for Free.
You can verify your Upgrade status after login to your Profile and view History.

4.0 will be the very first chargeable UpGrade, so all Capture One owners should still have all their Free UpGrades.
If a discrepancy is seen in this number, then submit a Support Case with Product Key.

    Cheers,
    K C

    Hi Keith;

    Please clarify for me.

I am using C1 Pro 3.7.6 and I thought I have always read that Pro version 4.0 would be released sometime in 2007. Are you telling Belinda that Pro version 4.0 will now arrive sometime in 2008?

    Thanks!

That's what I read into his response.

It is now half way through October and there has not been a release candidate yet so to see one in 2007 would not seem likely.

Having been involved with major software releases you try your best to live to published timelines but things do happen that impede your mission. I know that everyone likes to jump on them about not meeting the timelines but this has proven to lead to no value other than to satisfy the posters need to vent.

I can only surmise that in the midst of working on V4 they saw Lightroom and others come out with a relatively feature rich program and had to revisit their plans. I would hope that this is what is up. I am more than willing to wait for a stable program rather than trying to meet timelines and having something that is less than stable.

At lease get 3.7.7 to 3.7.8 so I can work with one program. Mark III

When will we be given a steer as to the additional capability of version 4 of C1 Pro over the LE version currently in beta?

Current v4 betas lack in-folder renaming (I use it to merge and rename images from multiple cameras by time), IPTC editing & templates. And competitors are including dust removal and lens correction.

Version 3.7.x we are told will not support .DNG files which I need as well as support for the Canon 1DsMark 3 which I now have. I will not be able to live with Canon DPP for long so will have to get a RAW convertor that supports the 1Ds3 and DNG - I really want that to be C1Pro (either 3.7.x, 3.8.x or 4.0). BUT I can't wait until (well?) into 2008 to make a decision: I need the tools now.

As a long time user I am getting concerned that turnaround times are extending and responsiveness has disappeared. Support was excellent.

You are right Martin. Phase One should at least communicate real details with us. I am in your boat, I am probably going to need to spend more $$$ on another converter, and after I do, I am sure 3.7.8 will be released as soon as I do. Kind of like when we were told version 4 will be released early 2007. This seems like a big test to see long people can hold their breath.

This should not be so hard to answer when CO3 and CO4 is not that different.
If a feature is in PRO but not in LE in v3 then you can presume that same applies in v4, there is a few exceptions but over all it is this way.
When it comes to comprehensive list of features and documentation it will be available when software is final.

When this is a Capture One 4 discussion in the Capture One 3 forum I am closing the thread.
