It's a 'Compare Variant'. You can right click the image you've 'pinned' and 'Clear Variant'.

You can remap it in keyboard shortcuts here:

Thanks, so in my setup, Compare Variant had no keyboard mapping, and changing it has removed the "Return" key from invoking it... which is great.

Now, is there any way to map the "Return" key to confirming a crop or keystone correction. It looks like you confirm a crop or keystone correction by changing to the mouse pointer control... is there a way to map "Return" to that?

There is no need to confirm a crop. It is not Photoshop. Keystone is different. Confirmation of your settings can only be done by clicking on the apply button, in case you set adjustments with the mouse in the viewer. You can also set keystone adjustments in the adjustments tool, with the sliders. No need for confirmation there.

When I'm in Capture One Pro, if I hit "Return" at any point, it seems to "pin" the current image and load the next one for a side-by-side comparison.

If it interests you, I recently created a tutorial blog about variants in general, including the compare variant.

Thanks nice site. I'll check it out.

BTW, are the cursor keyboard shortcuts exposed anywhere in the customization tool or are those hardcoded? I can't seem to find them.

Sorry, I mean, there are currently keyboards shortcuts assigned to the tools in the top middle of the screen like...
    - Select (v)
    - Pan (h)
    - Straighten (r)

Can you customize those keyboard shortcuts?

I figured this was the case... I couldn't find any of these key mappings in the tool to customize keyboard shortcuts. But it's a bit strange to offer all the customization they do and stop short here.

Also, after submitting a support ticket about this the resounding answer is they won't be editable.
