    RobG,

Are you using any program at all before moving files into a Capture One Session?

Are you using the 90CCW + 90CW buttons or the Arbitrary Rotation tool?
Are you using the process or the QuickProof ?

    Regards,

HI Keith, I download my files via card reader with NikonViews transfer tool, I then open CP to load the previews. When I come to a portrait shot I click on the "adjust image rotation" tool and enter 90 cw. At this point I usually click on exposure to start my adjustments to the image, whereby I am prompted for rotate or don't rotate..I choose rotate and carry on with my adjustments, but thats it for rotation or any further image angle adjustments. I then click process to tiff or jpg 100%, 240 DPI and the resulting image has almost 1/3 of the top cropped off.

Not sure if you anything else.
    Just let me know.
    Cheers,
    Rob

    Rob,

Most DSLRs have an in-camera setting regarding rotation.
Upon loading into Capture One it should Know which end is up.
When exactly do you get prompted to
    Rotate / Don't Rotate
    ?

What do you have set at Preferences > Process settings > Process settings area ?
Do NOT rotate the image ( according to orientation) by chance?

I see 2 variables here. Try one at a time to narrow the problem.

1- Don't use the Arbitrary Rotation ( Adjust image rotation) tool. Use the icons for 90ccw or 90cw and test results.

2- don't use the Nikon downloader. Just transfer image files direct from card in reader to HD Session folder.

    Test results.

    Cheers,
    k c

HI again, I did not have CP set to Do not rotate, it was unchecked. I tried using the icons instead of the arbritary tool and that worked..no more cropped top. I will also (next shoot) try not using Nikon downloader. I do have my camer set to rotate my portrait images.
I think the issue is solved, and I really do appreciate you help.
    Cheers,
    Rob 😄
