Pro 4 User Manual problem
We downloaded the new User Manual for Pro 4, and I sent my assistant to Kinko's to make several hard copies for the Studio. We've done this with previous downloaded Capture One manuals, especially when we're all learning the new software.
At Kinko's we couldn't have the pdf printed- copyright problems. There's a copyright mark on the cover!
If Phase One is not supplying hard manuals with the software- if it's downloaded, how are we supposed to make our own manual from the pdf? Yeah, we could print it ourselves, but we put the sprial binding and plastic covers on our studio manuals, especially since they're used frequently by our staff. Stuff Kinko's does. we'll write notes in the manual, put post-its, like any studio does. Looking at a pdf on a screen isn't practical, especially when we're working.
Does Phase One offer hard copy manuals?

Peter,
I downloaded and printed the manual on my Xerox Color laser without any issue.0 -

Read the OP's post again. The manual is copyrighted, so, Kenko's will not duplicate the manual and create a professionally bound version.
I hope Phase One will waive its copyright so users can make multiple copies. This is a no brainer to me. I don't see a market for copies of the manual to non-CO users. I sure PhaseOne would exploit that market if it existed.0 -
Perhaps just delete the first page in Acrobat and try again? 0 -
Thank you all for the responses. The manual also has copyright information in it's contents, making copying impossible if using a source like Kinko's. Again, not well thought out by Phase at all. If they want us to buy their products, why then make having a hard copy instruction manual difficult to obtain?
We copied it in-house- no other choice.
