Thumbnail Generation Failed after installing 5.1
After installing the 5.1 update from 5.xx, I am not getting the thumbnail generation error message. I checked the profile and I am pointing to the correct monitor profile.
Clicking on one of the thumbnail errors here's what was displayed:
Description: Cannot generate thumbnail from proxy file: too few color profiles
File: /Volumes/Macintosh HD2/All Clients/Labe/Labe BM RAW/CaptureOne/Cache/Proxies/Labe_1025.CR2.cop
Domain: com.phaseone.captureone
Code: 23
Using MAC version-10.6 snow leopard.
Why all of a sudden the error?

Just for an experiment,
I re calibrated the monitor, gave it a new name, launched C5.1 and pointed to the new monitor profile and no longer an error message.
Strange, because I just re calibrated the monitor only 2 days ago, but prior to the C5.1 update.
Anyway, now all is well.
Just wondering why this even occurred.

I have the same problem with 5.1.1. I have already deleted the program, checked disk permissions and reinstalled CO1. But every time I open a session the message "thumbnail generation failed" appears. The only way to avoid it is to choose for proof preview the current monitor calibration profile.
I am wondering whether this is the right thing to do? It seems strange to me.

Patrick,
What may be happening is an incompatibility between your custom Monitor Profile and the current Color Engine. The simplest way to determine this is to;
-Quit the Program
-Change your default Monitor Profile to Adobe 1998
-Delete the Proxie files associated with your RAWs
-Launch the software and load those RAW files again.
If you get the error then the issue is somewhere else, if you don't then you know you just need to create a new (version 2) monitor profile.0 -
Drew,
I tried your recommendation. By choosing Adobe profile the error does not happen. I did create a new monitor profile with Color Eyes Display Pro, I did chose version 2 type profile and the error message is back. Is there any know incompatibility with profiles by CEDP and CO1?

I shortened the profile name and skipped all hyphens. Seems to work right now. Thanks for the hint.
