I did not realise it might be camera dependent.

    I have a 1Ds Mk I

    Hi there,

You're OK with the Mk1 on Card as well as Tethered.

Bear in mind to remove/change card when IT is full--you cannot keep on even if your HD says space available.

That is the only limitation--so fit a BIG card--if you have a BIG capture HD

But how do you set it up to do that? At the moment it records to the computer when tethered but not the card. When I unplug it records to the card. I can't find any instruction or control to tell it to do both. Yes I have a large card 4GB.

    Hi-

    OK,

Firstly I used both Canon's over a three year period nearly ALWAYS shooting CF AND tethered.

End of each day My assistant checked the HD's backed up to external and burnt RAW DVD's.

ONLY then did we Format the CF cards.

Unfortunately I do not have the Canon's any more but I know it works perfectly as I state--I presume you are on C1PRO. I cannot recall any special Prefs settings for either program/Camera-- as I used the same settings 90% of the time.

Suggest you thoroughly read the Manuals/settings/etc for both programs -it must be a simple error in your case--I will be able to use a1Ds next week on a shoot and if no luck for you by then I'll rerun it and post how.

In the meantime I'm sure another kind soul will shed some light on why it is not evolving for you.

You can do a support case on your problem over on the Phase main site

    Do Canon have similar?

    Until then,

I made a case request on the phase one site. The answer was 'Not possible at this stage'. However, I can do it with the canon remote capture though, so that is what I will do
