Losing crops
Using C1 Pro 7.1.1, Macbook Pro Mid 2010, OS 10.8.3
I've just spent a lot of time cropping a series of about 200 images only to find on quitting and restarting the application that my crops have disappeared from a random selection of the images. I have just re-cropped those images and then quit and restarted again to find that different images have now lost their crops. To finish this job I'm going to have to keep C1 Pro open and hope that it doesn't crash...Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
Having spent a lot of time over the last month submitting support cases for various bugs I have encountered, I do not have the energy or inclination to submit any more, and I have come across a number since my last submission (including this one).
I have to say that I have really had enough of dealing with all the issues that arise when using C1 Pro. Version 6.4.4 was more stable than any of the version 7s, but still crashed far too often.
I really think the software development team at Phase One needs to find a way to produce more stable and reliable software. It appears to me that, for each version of C1 Pro, a complete re-write of the code takes place that breaks things that were working perfectly well in the previous version. Why?
Even though a few features I desire are missing from the applications, I will be moving to ACR and Lightroom for my processing going forward (even for my Phase back files), as I am fed up of the problems with C1 Pro; even though ACR's rendering of the Phase files might not be quite as good as C1 Pro's, at least Adobe's software is stable and I can get on with my work.
I will use C1 Pro only when a particular shoot requires the full tethering capabilites, e.g. use of Capture Pilot, and hope that over time the development team manage to get their act together so that I can re-evaluate the use of C1 Pro.
A very frustrated and disappointed user.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues - this losing crop situation is one I haven't heard of before.
That said, this is a user to user forum - I strongly recommend creating a support case with the dev team directly right here and they will be able to get you fixed up pretty rapidly.
I believe a good chunk of the support team is on holiday at the moment (both US and in the Netherlands) so you may not have a response until this coming Tuesday, but beyond that you shouldn't have much of a wait.0 -
Was the session created with C1 7.1.1? I'd suggest creating a new session and dragging all your images from the old session to the new one. Then try your cropping again to see if they are still randomly dropping off. 0 -
Thanks for your responses and suggestions. Having vented my frustrations on this board, I did manage to get my work finished and then, once a little less stressed, submitted a support case.
The session was created in 7.1.1. I did try creating a new session when I had finished working and, interestingly, on importing the images from the corrupted session, all captures had the correct crops applied. The original session had crashed randomly a couple of times, so could well have become corrupted. Anyway, the support team are going to carry out a de-bugging exercise on the problematic session, so will hopefully find out what was going on.
