Strange Behavior with Browser Thumbnail Context Menu

    Ron,

I run Win 7 rather than 8 but a quick read of what you described had me wondering if this is something to with settings for the WIndows task bar possibly combined with some scaling activity for the overall screen? (Scaling both in Windows and C1)

Win 7 allows the task bar to be 1 row or 2 rows in height. I wonder does Win 8 (which I have never used) offer something more than that to provide greater flexibility?

    Thanks for the reply, Grant.

I thought the problem was related to the taskbar too, but I thought of a new test. I moved the taskbar to the top of the screen, and I still see the problem. I'm fairly certain that it has something to do with the Delete command being close to the bottom of the screen (whether the taskbar is there or not).

It's probably more likely a Windows bug than a Capture One bug. Maybe it's related to C1's use of tooltips on context menu items. I tried to see if I could find another application on my PC that uses tooltips on menu item labels like that, and I can't.

    Hi Ron,

    Interesting.

Does anything change if you set the Browser below rather than to the right?

Also does the width of the browser window or size of the thumbnails have an effect?

The only times I can recall a sort of dithering/jumping effect have been a few strange things related to Windows drivers or other driver updates or, rarely, some connected UI device - dodgy mouse, marginal tablet pen or some very rare random trackpad effects - usually conflicts of some sort.

However with the location of the problem being so specific is a little unusual.

Hopefully someone in the Support Team will come up with some suggestions that help to identify the solution.

    Hi Grant,

Moving the browser doesn't change anything (except make it so the Delete command is always right above the taskbar). Changing the browser width or thumbnail size doesn't change anything either.

As you said, it's interesting. I probably should see if an updated video driver is available, but I'm not having any other weird system problems, so I'll probably just let sleeping dogs lie and just use the keyboard shortcut for that one command. I was mainly interested in hearing if anyone else is seeing the problem so I could pass it on to the support team.

    Hi Ron

I run Windows 10 and I have exactly the same problem.

    Hi Wim,

Thanks for taking the time to try it out. I guess it's good to know I'm not alone...
