Catalog import issues...
Hello,
I have exported a catalog from my Macbook which i want to import on my workstation.
Because of a new Canon eos camera i have renamed the files with a "_" to avoid any overwriting issues of existing files.
I used the batch file renamer and exited the catalog.
I now open the main catalog on my workstation and use the "import catalog" menu.
After a few files the importer says "duplicate file....." and shows me the name without the "_".
So my question is, does the batch file renamer only rename the files "virtually" within the catalog or should it not rename the physical files? And more importantly, how do i rename the files within my export catalog, so i can import them into the mail catalog?

An extra note!
If i choose "keep all" C1P creates 2 duplicates of ALL pictures imported. Not only of the duplicates.....
And the duplicates does not get imported. It only makes a variant of the existing image..
So it also messes up the catalog.........
Any help is much appreciated!!!!0 -
Ahhh.......it is the old catalog import error that now has expanded itself......
When importing one catalog into another, there has been issues where C1P creates duplicate variants of all the images, unless you specifically export your images from the original catalog, and then import them into your other catalog.
Normally if you just export and then import it works, but now it seems, that all import of catalogs has issues.
Will report this to Phase One support.
Work around was to export all the images of the catalog into a session and then import that into the main catalog.
Voila - no duplicates!?! 😉
