Has been discussed several times here and in the Windows forum as well. I suggest to open a support case and do a feature request. It might come when the Pro version is released for both CO4's.

I simply can not imagine this happening... software is developed, but then it will not work with previous versions/formats. Imagine if MS Word, Xcel, Quark or virtually any other software could not open previous version documents? That would never happen. I do not understand why this direction has been chosen for C1. The planning on this might be revised.

    I noticed the same problem.

I can't use C1 4 for capture since I shoot 99% tethered to the computer. Since C1 4 is the "light" version, that feature is just not there.

So I was thinking that I could capture in C1 3x and work latter in C1 4, but that would be too easy.

So this whole exercise of upgrading to a baby incomplete version of a good program is first of all tiering, and second disappointing but using just 20% of the potential of what the word can state, or an understatement.

Why couldn't they include a simple unmodified tethered capacity --and sessions-- in the C1 4?? at least they could do a DB version of the program with tethered capacity for the people that buy the expensive hardware that also has the Phase One name on...

What happens if you buy a P 25+ what do you get? a Capture software crippled and an older Pro version?

I am shooting tethered and previewing and processing images directly using Capture One 4. With a P25+ and on a Macbook Pro, I have Capture One 3.7 DB and Capture One 4 open at the same time. I create the session in DB which takes the images from the tethered back in real time as normal, if using a remote release on the camera I can minmise the DB app and never look at it. Or I can capture from the keyboard by clicking in the DB window, which can be small and floating, and hitting return as normal.

I have the C1 4 window up as my main or only window, point it at the capture folder for the session and preview, white balance, adjust and process as I want to.

Only downside I can see is that DB will create thumbnails, previews and settings files as normal but as I believe C1 4 doesn't use them and as its own settings files I guess they can be deleted to save disk space.

That is a correct assumption (IMHO of course).
