C1Pro on MacBook Pro renders computer completely unusable
I’m using the latest version of C1Pro 3.7.4 on a MacBook Pro (2GB Ram, 2GHz intel duo) and it does seem to have one major issue. Whist it’s much quicker to process images than my powerbook was, there’s an issue when downloading images to C1 from a flashcard. If C1 is generating previews it jams up the computer almost totally. If the ‘generate previews during import’ box is ticked, it’s ok for the first card’s worth. After that, it jams things up so totally that it’s virtually impossible to eject the card. It becomes impossible to highlight and drag the card icon to the bin to eject, and takes about a minute of holding the cursor over the bin for the icon to move and eject.
If you wait until all the images are downloaded and generate previews afterwards it’s fine (ie the cards will eject normally), but then of course the same issue happens to the computer and the computer is totally unusable for about 15 minutes whilst the previews are generated.
Not only this, but once the previews have been generated, if you try to do anything for another 5 minutes or so all you get is the spinnig wheel.
Overall, it ran much much better on the Powerbook, apart from the long processing times.

No problems with my MBP an C1 3.7.4, with cards or tethered 0 -
How many raw files are you talking about? The first 100 or so are ok, it's after that that it jams up. I'm dealing with about 400-600 images per job. If you load them with a long gap (10 minutes) between each card the problem doesn't occur.

I use 1gb cards with about 50 to 60 shots: on a average job I shoot about 500 to 1500 shots a day on location with tethered it would be the same.
Becareful with using rosetta applications like photoshop or bridge in the background they use a lot of ram.0
