    John,

I already searched the forum and saw those posts. However, there has been no clear statements from PhaseOne whether an Intel processor was a recommendation or was an a requirement.

i.e.- Is can it run on PPC with 10.5.5 and it's just a matter of being considerably slower or are there show stopping issues with it?

As well, I've taken this opportunity to give this topic a clear title.

    Take care,

    -Anthony

    Anthony,
Search the Forum, people are doing it without issue. I'm not sure what Phase One's stance on it is but from some individual experience' it works with Leopard on a PPC.

I'm running v4.5 on an iMac G5 (1.8 GHz). It's only been a day, but I have not seen any bugs, instability or unusual behaviour.

The only slight annoyance is that whenever an adjustment is made, I get a pause plus the message "focussing". In v4.1 that this only happened at 100% view. Now it happens in all view scales. I suspect on a G4, the pause might be long enough to make the editing process very slow and frustrating.

    Paul,

    Thanks for the feedback.

While I haven't upgraded to Leopard yet version 4.1 is running without a huge amount of difficulty on my PowerBook G4.

I was hoping 4.5 Pro, with Mac OS 10.5.5 of course, might be the same.

    Take care,

After another few days, I am almost ready to give up. 4.5 Pro is definitely a lot slower on my imac G5 (10.5.5). Change anything at all and the dreaded "focusing" message comes up and makes me wait about 20 seconds. This really adds up when you try to edit a picture. I think I will just put it away, and return to it next year when I get an intel mac.

    Cheers

    Hello All,

I've been a Mac user for about 8 years, but never got used to Apple's animal naming convention for their OS's...can we please just use numbers? I'm trying to get a CLEAR and CONCISE answer from Tech Support on this question, but all to no avail...

I'm running a Mac G5 PowerPC tower with 4.5GB RAM under OS 10.4.11. I haven't had any need to upgrade to 10.5. Am I outta luck with running the new C1 PRO v4 on this configuration?

Thanks for any specific, directed answer given.

    Regards,
    AlanH
