Process slownes, LE on Mac Mini
I recently switched from an Athlon 2200 to a Mac Mini. (1.4GHz, 1GB) The Mac is as fast in every respect as the PC, except C1.
You can notice this especialy when processing an image; the time untill the status bar shows 100% done is about the same (20 seconds) as on the PC. Both after it is \"done\", the status bar starts spinning for another 15-20 seconds before the file actualy appears and C1 moves on the the next one in the queue.
What on earth is C1 doing after it thinks it is done?

C1 is a CPU & Ram hog. I have C1 pro installed on my Powerbook 1.67 with 1.5 gig of ram, and a 5400 rpm hard drive. I also have it installed on my G5 2x machine as well. Do you have at least 512 MB or 1 gig on top of the 128 MB it takes just to boot your computer ? As I recall the Mini has a slower hard drive and ships with 256 MB of ram in its one and only ram slot.
Ram is the cheapest equation for performance.
There is my 2 cents.

RAM and drive speed aren't the problem; it's loaded with 1GB and the Mac Mini's drive is _faster_ than the one I had in my PC. It's incredibly fast for a \"laptop\" drive, 25MB/sec sustained between it and my FireWire HD is not a problem at all. 0 -
On your laptop, how long does conversion take? I understand it's different between cameras, but it will give me an idea. I use an E-1 an when it is finaly done, 40+ seconds have passed. 0
