If you have sent it to Michael Tapes at Rawworkflow I presume he on the case and I would leave it in his capable hands to bring it forward to R&D.

So was your presumtion correct, have you an explanation why this has now appeared in 3.6.1 and yet was not in the previous version, and any idea what is being done about it?

Or should I and everyone else using an E-1 just sit, wait and assume by some divine intervention the answer will come to us through other mediums - collective prayer for example, which judging by the current level of responsiveness might just be a quicker option!

Anything you can share on this subject would be 100% better than what we have been provided with thus far.

I was trying to avoid the \"to many chef's\" phenomenon.
You said earlier it had already been working with Tapes ad rawworkflow.com
    What is the status?

I have not heard anything from Michael, not even a confirmation that he received the image. I left it, as you indicated that he would pass it through to the appropriate people in R&D, but I am not aware of the status of the problem.

Well I missed this one - is this only relevant to 3.6.1 Pro, or is it affecting other versions ? I can't see anything in 3.6 SE. I was considering upgrading to \"Pro\" early. I have to add to Simon's dismay here - if this really isn't fixed, and if the process of handling these issues isn't made considerably more open - why should a customer be expected to co-ordinate your technical support ? - then I'm really going to move on.

Seems your ex-colleagues over at Pixmantec are off to a good start. It should be time to realise that a premium-priced product like C1 needs to justify itself with premium-level support and quality control. I'm a great fan of C1, and I'd be sorry to drop it, but I'm not a charity.

    Hi David

I did not have this in C1 Pro 3.6, it just materialised in 3.6.1. Shame that Pixmantec is for Windoze only at the moment.

True, but it does seem from the feature list that C1 still has some exclusive features, such as free rotate, and considerably fewer bugs. I'm a bit disturbed by the morality of Pixmantec to be honest, but I guess there's a story behind it.

I LIKE C1. I use it every day. I'm not a pro, just an amateur. I have some income from photography, but still low, so paying for tools like C1 is a big drain. C1LE is too crippled for me. SE was a good compromise. PRO is too expensive, but since SE owners a being offered a fair upgrade path I'll move to it. But what I would like PhaseOne to attempt to get their heads around is that they really have to sort out customer relations. It isn't asking a favour - it's basically what we pay money for - professional support from a professional company. There are plenty of alternatives out there, and in terms of pure image quality C1 is not the indisputable leader (although personally I think it offers the best overall solution). Where C1 really wins is workflow, and I hope that v4.0 will emphasise this (for example by adding things like multiple exposure combination).

I'm not posting to complain (I've got better things to do with my time), just to raise concerns as a currently loyal paying customer.

I too find C1 the best overall package, given workflow as well as image quality, but I absolutely agree that feedback form the support people is not good (and I speak as someone who worked in support for a technology company for five years).

Regardless of how good C1 is, lack of support will mean people will move to another solutions if it is competitive. Poor support loses more clients than poor software.

Let's hope v4 is better, and let's hope the maizing issue is resolved soon, as right now C1 is approaching unusable for me.

Could you please log this as a support case at http://support.phaseone.com and address this to me, please include a raw file and a jpg blowup of the problem.
PMA is still on in the U.S where by I think this will be a faster solution for you.

I know our support is better then most companies and we offer several different support options, like support log system, 4 different forums, extencive knowledge base, online video tutorials etc etc.

What are you lacking from supports side?

    Just to update this case.
Simon I have still not recieved a support case (If you have please provide me with case number) In the mean time MichaelT has provided information around this case shortly after PMA ended.
Rest assure, it is being taken care of.

Sorry I got busy for a while there. I have in fact pointed Michael to a download page with the image in question and he said he will pass it to the team for use in testing version 3.7.

    Thanks.

Any update on this ? I would like to throw some money at PhaseOne to upgrade to Pro, but I can't see much point if it has this bug in it. It is also not so reassuring if a bug introduced in 3.6.1 which was not present in 3.6 takes so long to trace and identify....

It has been identified and corrected in the beta version of 3.7, a release candidate of 3.7 should be available for download this month. Final version is due for release in May.

It is still very much there in the beta version of 3.7, as I have stated before. I really do not know how you can say it is fixed when even the most basic testing that you should be doing will clearly show it has not been resolved.

I presume the development team still have the test image I sent. I suggest they test this one again.

Any news ? You're drinking at the Last Chance Saloon on this one, guys, although I guess since your E-1 user base is just me & Simon you're not really treating it as a priority....

I'm not even bothering to claim my free 3.7 PRO for now. I'm staying with 3.6 (not patched to 3.6.1 thankfully), but I'm gradually moving towards Olympus Studio & Adobe.... Pity, but image quality is one thing that just has to work.
