    Hi,

Made some more tests and I am surpirsed that MediaPro SE takes about 55 minutes to create a 400 image catalog ...

    Is that really normal ?

I have about 27500 images which I want to catalog and that would mean that my PC would be locked for

    27500/400x50 = 57.3 hours / 8 hours a normal working day

ONE week for creating a 27500 image catalog ?

For that I will not spent US $ 220.00 ...

OK. MediaPro SE is dead for me ...

And no, I do not have a prehistoric PC 😁

as far as i now, if you start to create a new MP Catalog with using large images Data you have to wait ...
until all images are been written inside the catalog DB.
But i thing if you have already a old MP Catalog and want to updated in MP SE new version it don't take so long time.
anyway i am just working with max. 2000 Images Catalog

Thank you for your comment and yes that is true but for making a jpg from a raw and it takes for each 7.5 seconds taht is not fast ...

I also tested Photomechanics 5 and it is a bit faster but not yet acceptable ...

Will keep searching what is on the market ...

    😁

    .
so you are converting RAW files to jepg directly from MP ! i dont now how this works for me !
because i am using MP only to C1. and not alone.
any way ! wich kind of RAW are you using , ist com from a 100 MP Phase one backe or 40 Mp Nikon 810 or Fuji RAW ( special). higher MP need time to compassion.
i cane understand your frustrating , because there is no DAM on the markt can give you the good result.

    Hi,

No, My files are from the EOS 5D Mark III or feom the EOS-1D X. Nothing fancy.

I made the first tests and there I had RAW and JPG files from the camera and MP imported both. Why should I need the same image imported as RAW and JPG. So what I did was delete all JPG images so I only import the RAW files and here yes the time is horrendous.

Imagine you come back from a shooting session with 500 images and want to look at them quickly and start choosing ...

    You get crazy ...

DPP from Canon makes 500 images so fast that you can even switch to the end of the images and they immediately appear. MP makes nicely one by one from the beginning and takes ages ...

So the problem is not importing old image folders but new fresh shot folders from the day ...

I guess Phase One is not reading this ...

No they may not be. This is a user-to-user forum. Phase One staff sometimes participate, but it is not the official way to report problems. You should raise a support case for that, and see what they can do for you.
