Can I Duplicate Image Files In Capture One Pro 10
Happy user of Capture One since Jan 2004 here :- )
On some occasions I would like to be able to duplicate an image file in C1. I'm not referring to copying edits, using catalogues etc, purely to duplicate an existing individual file - preferably retaining any edits I've already made on it - with the duplicate either remaining in the existing folder or saving into an alternative folder depending on my needs at that moment.
I'm having to adjust my workflow because images from my Canon 5D-IV's are not visible in Adobe Bridge CS6 and I do not wish to participate in later versions than CS6. For years I've culled in C1 (as I like to try actual edits in C1 before deciding if an image is a keeper or not), moved the keepers to a new folder, then used Bridge to re-order them and re-name them; then regenerated in C1. Now I'm moving keepers to a new folder within C1, and re-ordering and re-naming them in C1. But on occasions I'd rather duplicate than move ..... if you see what I mean.
Thanks.
Pete

The way I would do this is to select the image in Capture One, press F8 to duplicate the image and then export that image as a JPEG or TIFF.
Is that what you were looking for?0 -
Menu - 'File' - 'Export Images' - 'Originals'?
Choose destination and file name. Keep or drop adjustments. Maybe pack as eip to keep raw and adjustments in a single file (it's actually a zip file).

Thanks for that. Its Hans' solution that is working best for me because I want to duplicate the original .cr2 files, together with any adjustments I may have made during culling, plus I prefer not to have duplicates created via f8 appearing in the same grid - there can easily be 1500 - 2000 images before culling.
I'm not using EIP because there are lots of images plus I like to have the C1 preview etc folders within my main RAW folder for each job.
I did google my query but I guess "export" is too far removed from "duplicate" to come up with relevant information. Oh well.
Thanks again, very helpful.0
