Clarity Tutorial
In the tutorial on the new Clarity tool, it is stated that when set to Neutral, the tool works as in earlier versions and that the Structure slider is not available, as it is when the Clarity tool is set to Punch. This appears to be the case in the video, but not in my installed version of CO Pro 7, where the Structure slider appears when Clarity is set to the Neutral option. Is there an anomaly in my installation, or is the video inaccurate? I feel that it would be worthwhile to have the Structure slider available in the Neutral option.

The video is based on an earlier build (a.k.a. betas) of CO7, where the Neutral setting did not have a Structure slider. Now both the Neutral and Punch setting have a structure slider. I think that with Structure = 0, the Neutral setting comes close to the CO6 Clarity tool. CO6 adjustments are translated to this setting if I am correct.
These tutorials were created in parallel with the program to be able to release it with the program. Hence, some differences may occur.0 -
I'd be glad to understand how the "structure" works…
I clicked on the ? help button (http://help.phaseone.com/fr/CO7/clarity) but I get a 404 error page on the server…Server Error

Got it there:

The Structure is basically just Clarity with an emphasis on Straight lines. If you don't have a lot of angles, like a forest image for example, you won't see much change with this slider (perhaps on straight branches). You'll see the most effect of this tool on architectural images and cityscapes. 0 -
Yep, I've seen that.
BTW, as you can see, I've jumped on the trial (60 days free wow!) and I must say that I'm very impressed but the quality of the image (structure, contrasts, colors…), even on DNGs. Noise reduction has been really improved as well as light recovery (or are my PEF files better than my previous Canon's ?)
However I still miss the lens correction tool ☹️
At least if I could use a "standard" keystone slider…0 -

Hello Paul,
I think you are mistaken as I found in the betas, certainly the last one but possibly earlier, that the Structure slider was available under the Neutral option (since you refer to the betas).
I will add that I do find it regrettable that such an error would occur in Phase One's instructional videos for CO Pro v7. Given all the effort that has gone into the development of v7 and its many enhancements, one would hope that the presentation of the program would do them justice.
Thanks nevertheless for pointing out that the discrepancy was in the video and not in my set up.0
