C1 Pro Upgrades
Hi there,
I'm considering buying C1 Pro. Before making the final decision I'd like to have clarified the following: When buying C1 Pro the customer is entitled of getting 2 free upgardes. But what does this actualy mean?
- Suppose there will be a new version (v3.7.1). Is this already a 'free' upgrade, which means there is only one left. If there's a v3.7.2 a few weeks later, the second is gone? After that one has to pay for upgrades?
- Can I skip an upgrade? (as in the example above, move from 3.7 to 3.7.2 (unless they make 3.7.1. necessary on the machine in order to upgrade to 3.7.2))
- Or is an upgrade atleast a minor new version of the software (following the following schema: Major/Minor/Patch or bugfix --> 3.6.1)? which would bring us to 3.8 as a first 'free' upgrade?
- none of the above - if so, what?
Thanks for your comments. However, I'd prefer to see comments of longterms users of C1 Pro, who already made their experiences with Phase One rather than a reply of the Phase One marketing guys 😉 . Don't take it too serious, their reply is welcomed as well.....
Thanks,
gogol

Hi
See this as your operating system.
Panther was Mac OS 10.3
The updates (10.3.1, 10.3.2, 10.3.3 etc etc) was simply bug fixes.
But if you want to go up to Tiger (10.4) you have to pay.
Same goes for Capture One, a 3rd digit does not count.
But next version, for example 3.8 or if we go direct to 4.0 would count as 1 upgrade.
You can not skip a version, what you buy is current version and the two folowing versions.
Note that 3.7 does not count towards this when it has be decided to be a free upgrade for all existing users. 😉0
