Fixing specific marks to specific images
I am working with hundreds of old photographs for a family history. I am using a watermark to display the IPTC Description containing the identification of individuals in the image. Some light images require a black text watermark in the bottom right of the image. Some dark images require a white text watermark. As I work through setting the watermark for each image as required, the watermark for all images changes. I need to process the images out to my book software one at a time.
Is there a way to permanently assign a recipe to each image so that they are not constantly changing?
Thanks for your help here.

Nothing I can think of Fred, other than a workflow that firstly creates the edit output file without a watermark but with an identifier for Light or Dark image (and others if necessary). Include the required IPTC data field(s).
That would allow for newly produced Light or Dark OUTPUT images to be reprocessed in a selected batch or batches to add the required watermark in either light or dark form.

I assume you are suggesting that I use a couple of keywords ("light", "dark") and then select this keyword to get the group that I want to process.
I have tried this and it works pretty well. Is this what you are suggesting?

Presumably SFA's suggestion would work with keywords, as you suggest, or alternatively you could just use different colour tags for the light and dark ones.

I have been using this for the past few days now. Everything is working fine. Using keywords is better for mel. I am not all that disciplined yet at using colour tags and they get reused for different things. Thanks for the help.

Hi Fred,
Sorry, for some reason your replay form 3 days ago has eluded both the email updates for "Follow" and and listing in the "Activity" sections of the community.
Yes I was thinking Keywords - or at least some part of the IPTC metadata.
Colour tags as Ian suggests could also work - it very much depends on personal preferences and, perhaps, how you use colour tags, ratings or whatever your preferred methods might be.
There are official recommendation for use of the IPTC fields in commercial ventures but if one is non-commercial one can use than as one chooses.
Of course once you have one of the options in use it becomes quite easy to add another and use both or swap between them should you decide it works better for you.
