    Hi Alexandre,

Thank you for feedback on Capture One - this is always welcomed and encouraged among our users and we appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software.

I have forwarded your comments and suggestions to our Product Management team as something to consider in a future release.

Whilst we cannot comment on future releases, we take all suggestions on board and hopefully your feedback contributes towards a future version of Capture One.

    Alexandre,

Historically the idea of full tethering is that C1 provides full control of the camera and allows you to use your own naming and folder structures on the shoot. That means the in camera cards would not work and the options provided by the camera manufacturer did not allow for writing to in camera cards in that situation.

The "Hot folder" option is a way of saving to the Camera storage AND another drive on the computer at the same time and then have C1 monitor the designated folder for new files arriving so that it can offer instant editing ability.   That maybe what you want.

Recently some camera form some manufacturers - Sony and Fuji as I recall - had provided settings in the camera that allow them to link to both their internal storage and an external storage using an external editor (C1) at the same time. Whether the camera offers the connection type required is a matter fo the camera manufacturer.

If you have not got one of those cameras I would suggest you consider the "Hot Folder" option.

If you still want to use the full C1 controlled tethering option then you might want to investigate options for improving cable performance and security.

    HTH.

This issue has made me uncomfortable for some time. Shooting tethered and having the images only on the computer but not on the card is an issue. I truly prefer more security, more back up options. A hot folder just puts the images in another file on the same computer.  I find this the one and only unsatisfactory thing about C1.
