Maybe create two separate folders for Capture One?

First folder named Sony, second folder called Nikon.

    Hopefully that'll work.

If you are using the same release download for both "versions" you do not need two installations.

The Activation Key that is currently associated with your system controls whether it enables the functionality of the Nikon or Sony versions, You will have one for Sony Express and another for the Nikon options. To change form one to the other will require disabling one key and enabling the other.

How some of the other Appdata settings and userconfig file values are dealt with when changing options I have no idea  - but that does no make any difference to the principle UNLESS you set up separate user accounts for each version.

Personally I would just buy the Pro activation and save all the changing around.

I guess I can switch between these two versions by switching the Activation Key each time before I start the editing, but like to have a fast way to do so.

The Pro version is more expensive.

I think, Capture One should treat the paid version and the express version as two different product so that let the paid version users enjoy the usage of an express version

For a few extra dollars to allow so much greater facility (compared to the Express version) and convenience (by being able to edit any supported RAW file) I think I would opt for the full Pro version.

As  a Canon user I have to anyway.

Or just ditch one of the other manufacturers so you work with the full software features but enjoy a reduced cost.
