Curve and Input / Output values

I would like to enter the input and output values of a curve point. I often create several points on the curve to lock in the curve above or below the area I want to adjust. Often when I click to create a point it is slightly off the line. I would like enter the output value once the point is created rather than trying to adjust it.

  While you're waiting for this feature, and in case you do not know this: you can adjust the point by hovering over it and using the mouse wheel to adjust the point on the vertical axis, and with a keyboard modifier (Shift?) the point moves horizontally. I like using this for fine adjustments.

  Michael, you can easily create points on the diagonal (i.e., ones that establish Output = Input) by a short click anywhere in the "Curve" mapping panel. The point will appear exactly on the curve at the X (Input) coordinate your mouse cursor was. If you accidentally drag while clicking, just use "Undo" once and the point will jump back exactly to the curve (and hence not modify the Input -> Output mapping).

  The use of such "anchor" points, however, is a tedious workaround necessary because better local curve controls are not available. Darktable has the kind of locally controllable horizontally-oriented mapping tool that I suggested in the above linked feature request for a different purpose (manipulating hues and saturation) and doesn't quite work how I would envision it, but Darktable's implementation nevertheless allows a glimpse at how easy tone control could be.
