Turn off - Auto Hide Mode for Browser for good

    Aron,

There are people posting in the Windows section of the forum about how much they believe that the Windows system should have the Mac "Auto Hide" feature - which it lacks.

I am minded to keep a link to this thread in order to point out that certain features may not always be as advantageous to everyone as they might seem.

Changing to a Windows computer would permanently eliminate the Auto Hide feature for you but I suspect it is not the answer you want to hear.

As I recall there used to be certain criteria the Apple approved software had to conform to for acceptance and "standard" features like Auto Hide were among them.  It that correct and if so is it still the case?

To be quite honest I agree with you.

In those situations where Windows (or applications running in Windows) provides some sort Auto Hide facility I find it annoying in general use more often than I find it to be a benefit. There are some specific situations where it can be useful but for the majority of my human to computer interaction it isn't. In my opinion.

It would be nice to find some way to toggle it off.

    Hi,

thank you for your comment! I have no problem having this function in the software & in certain cases, for certain users, it might be crucial. For me personally it would be simply reasonable to give the user the option if you want to use it or not.

Again, in my personal workflow, it undermines the advantage of editing in full screen as I get constantly stopped/disturbed by windows popping up.

    Have a great day,

    Aron

    SFA,

I am one of those Windows users who would like to have an auto show/hide feature, but indeed not if it couldn't be turned off. I did not know that :-)

I was seriously evaluating a MBP for field use, happy now with with my new Dell XPS with a Pen (though I will revisit this decision in a few years once C1 can run on ARM MacBook Pros.. :-)

    BeO,

By that time there will some AI function (using a network of tracking cameras) to which you can Subscribe and simply "describe" the sort of shot you think you would like to see and the "network" will consider the request, pick a suitable subject, prepare and image and then fine tune the processing, based on your personal preferences and deliver the finished article to you.

This is the only way that most people will be allowed to "travel" anywhere in the future.

The question than is whether the this means that travel will be 'armless or 'armful to the planet.

In elon world you will be implanted with a chip and will simply be able to think the image and mentally hit the "order" button.

No one will care whether it is real or not - but "real" will carry a premium price.

    SFA,

So, do you think Apple will not sell ARM based MBPs, or do you think C1 will not run on them, before your vision becomes true...? :-)

I tend to disagree, I see there won't be any images in the future anymore, at most, imagery will be a niche market like film is today.

In the English language the term 'imagine this' will be an ancient term, they will say 'video this', 'youtube this', or whatever the hipster online service company name will be then.

There won't even be pixels anymore just raw streams which will be transmitted to you, if you paid the subscription fees, and color graded on the fly by implanted bio-chips, according to our personal color preferences, in case we allowed to set those preferences as cookies.

This assumes we are still allowed to have personal preferences and are allowed to take decicions, I can't see this aspect of the future clear enough right now, need to go back home and eat some more cookies... :-)
