Replace originals with cached versions (Lost originals)
I'm in what I think might be a somewhat unusual situation, where I've lost my originals (not Capture One's fault!) and now only have the cached versions of my recent photos left, which was at least great to realize when I thought they were completely gone.
My question is, if I can create some new originals from those backups in some easy fashion? I realize I can't get my original raw files back and I would lose resolution as well, but it seems it's the best solution I have.
The problem is It seems I can't export them, because that depends on the originals(?). I could manually screenshot them and saving the result from that, but that's very slow and tedious for hundreds of files + it's lossy, unless I go for huge tiff files or similar, and the previews are also a bit larger than my maximum screen resolution, so I wouldn't be able to get them out in their full preview size that way.
Are there other solutions?

When you say cached versions, I assume you mean the previews. For most export purposes you need access the original files. But one of the formats in which you can export (JPEG QuickProof™) just generates JPEG from the preview without accessing the original raw file. It is somewhat limited in resolution but it is a way of getting a JPEG output from your previews, as I understand it.

Yes, the previews.
That's exactly what I was looking for - thank you, Ian!0 -
Sorry, but I do not know a way. C1 appears to keep its previews under the catalogue folder under the cache\previews folder, but they appear to be in a bespoke C1 format. Renaming does not appear to allow them to be read by any other image viewing apps.
I would suggest that you put a support request, the C1 team may be able to help.
