Tether to Macbook Air

I'm considering getting the new 2020 MB Air for the purpose of tethering only and then transfer to my iMac for all post-production. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm looking to only get the base model with maybe 16gb of RAM.

    If you aim for a bigger screen to look at the capture, considering
    that small screen and the room occupied by CO's interface, isn't
    that an expensive solution? How about these smaller ones that
    may be mounted on the camera? … bigger than LiveView and
    waaaay cheaper than a MBA.

    I have the chance that my old — and slow — MBP 17 is still do-
    ing fine for on location work.
