Weird line on image
Hi,
As I was editing an image, I noticed a weird white line on the edge. I couldn't figure out where it came from, it doesn't look like I could have done this with any tool in CO accidentally... but I thought reset should remove it. It doesn't. I tried Adjustments --> Reset, the line is still there, even after closing and reopening CO.
Any ideas (1) how the line got there, and (2) how I could restore my original raw file?

Have you opened the original file in another viewer, outside of C1? Irfanview is what I use to view raw files when I want to see if something is amiss. C1 does not edit the raw file or original jpg, so if the line is there when you view it outside of C1, then C1 did not do it.

I just wanted to be clear... Capture One is a non-destructive image editing package. It never touches you original raw files. Ever. Unlike some other editors. So you do not have to do anything to "reset" the original raw file, as it is still in it's "virgin" condition.

Kevin, have you checked the file in another viewer, just to check if the raw file is untouched (it should be since as you say C1 is non-destructive, but worth a check I suppose)? There is a reset button in the too bar, which should revert out any edits you have made. I am not sure what could have caused the line...I have not seen this before when I have been editing. Have you created any layer masks that contain edits? If so deselect/disable the layer mask and see if it goes away.

You might find that the white line is an annotation you have accidentally drawn on the image.
These do not disappear when you reset adjustments but they will not show on the "before image",
as you show in your screen shots.Try erasing the line with the erase annotations cursor tool.

gb, good suggestion. That is something I will definitely put in my "things to remember". I have played with annotation a bit and probably noted this, but my memory is not what it used to be.

@gb, thank you, that was the solution. It was an accidental annotation. Thanks!
