Prevent creation of "untitled album" on session image import

These are records of a batch of files processed in a single import action. Quite useful is one ever needs to go back and check each import batch. I just rename the Album if I am likely to make use of it. It save any possible need for creating and album with that specific content at some future point.

An assumption is made that auto creation of an album will be a requirement for most people.

Are you working with C1 using the same session all the time? If so there may be a better approach for your particular needs.

Thanks, but I know "what" and "why" these are, I've been using Capture One for more than 5 years.  I do re-use a collection of Sessions based on purpose, they work VERY well for me, I've explored all manner of different ways of using Capture One and aside from this annoyance it is by far the best for my workflow.

So is it possible to turn this off?  And follow-up question? Why the hell not?

Their mere existence and the fact they don't update when files are moved to Trash within a session points to either sessions being designed for multiple imports or Import Albums not really being intended for Sessions.  I know I'm somewhat unique in preferring re-use of Sessions vs. job-based Sessions and Catalogues, but I find the former doesn't work with my workflow and the latter creates an unwieldy mess that must be wholly managed within C1.  I suspect creating a new Session would resolve the issue with deleting Session Albums hanging the app for 60 seconds, but I don't want to lose my Session keywords and a few other things. I'm aware I can build new Keyword Collections, but don't want to and feel like I shouldn't have to.

In summary: can I turn this feature off, and if not why not?  (The latter is more directed at PhaseOne employees).

"Thanks, but I know "what" and "why" these are, I've been using Capture One for more than 5 years. "

I wish I had known that before I replied.

I could have saved myself some time and saved you a minute or two reading my reply.

The answer to your question is no.

If you want a discourse with a Capture One supporter use this link. This is the new link that replaces the system you will have been used to for the previous 4.5 years.

Thanks for confirming that it's unfortunately not possible. What I suspected, but hoped someone had figured something out.

I do appreciate you were trying to help and sorry your time was wasted, but I'll gently and kindly point out it was your own choice to not answer the question I asked and instead answer a question I did not ;)  And my "why the hell not" was definitely not directed at you and I should've been more explicit about that when I first said it.

I've conversed with Support multiple times, they're generally good at solving issues but any improvement I've ever suggested has disappeared into the ether never to be seen in the product.  That's their decision, and I'm ok with that, but my decision is to not waste my time trying to help them improve their product.
