Lost edits/folder/catalog
I just began using Capture One Pro 20 for Nikon. Sigh. I imported photos from my desktop and had as a destination, my external hard drive. I edited a whole pile of them, quit CP1 and then later returned and reopened the program. And I can't find that folder/catalog or whatever it is called, anywhere. I have lost all my edited work - how is that possible?? I've looked for the last hour in every manner possible. Does anyone have any advice, really frustrated...many thanks.

Launch Capture One.
Click on the File menu and mouse over the Open Recent item. You will see a list of recently opened catalogs and/or sessions. If you can't tell from the name open them one at a time. You will likely find your missing images.

Thanks Marco, I did try that and it's not there...which surprised and frustrated me. Have no idea where the images have gone. Do you know anywhere else or to whom I could reach out?

Click on the "Submit a Request" button at the upper right of this page. Be prepared to explain your issue in excruciating detail. To get the needed details try to repeat what you did. That often starts with taking some garbage pictures to work with. Sometimes in the repetition you will see what happened. If not you at least have the data support says they need.

David, Imported your photos from the desktop to what?
A Catalog or a Session?
Did you place the Catalog or Session on your external drive? Or just the "imported" images?
